Prof. Jing Xu Designation: Vice Director of Audio-visual Communication Research Center in Peking University, Biography: Prof. Jing XU is working at School of Journalism & Communication in Peking University, China. She did her research as Senior Associate Member (SAM) at Oxford University (2001-2002). She received her Ph.D. at school of International Studies in Peking University with dissertation titled Chinese Political Communication in the Great Leap Forward in 1958, which was published in Hong Kong in 2004. She focuses on political communication, public opinion, media governance, and role of media in risk communication especially for food safety. She has been teaching and doing research in Peking University for 22 years, first in School of International Studies, then in School of Journalism & Communication. She has also been involved in several national research projects and networks. She has authored, co-authored and edited five books and published tens of journal articles. She has guest lectured at Oxford University, the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, Hong Kong Chinese University and University of Lugano among others.
